Farm activities
Estancia Cameron was born on Estancia Caleta Josefina founded in 1904 by the Operating Society of Tierra del Fuego and named after one of its directors, the New Zealander, Alexander A. Cameron. Its current area is nearly 100.000 hectares, in which you can find forests, rivers, lakes, grasslands and grassy pastures. Currently it maintains about 25,000 sheep and 2,000 cattle. During your stay at the estancia you can explore the old time farm activities by joining the shepherd style gathering the sheep or cattle with dogs to the barns. Participating in a massive sheep shearing, cattle and sheep mustering or sheep dipping can be an unforgettable situation for anyone who enjoys feeling the “gaucho” style of life.
