We tend to fish Skagit and Scandi style lines but there are certainly other lines that will work well and make you feel comfortable. A week of casting 400 grain sink tip lines can be totally exhausting and so we feel fortunate to be able to fish so effectively with floating lines with wet flies on this stretch of the river.

We recommend two handed rods not only for effectively covering the pools in big water years, but also, and perhaps more importantly, to help combat the wind that normally blows downstream. Wind is a fact of life in Tierra del Fuego and any advantage we can get in keeping our flies wet is welcome.
